'Public ballot' on Government Failures

KADAPA: “Whether the State government has credibility and the right to continue in office” was the sole point on which All India Youth Federation activists organised a mock people's ballot in front of Kadapa Collectorate on Wednesday.

In what AIYF termed a ‘no confidence motion' moved on 14 failures of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, people were asked to put a tick mark indicating their choice whether the government failed or not and signing the ballot paper. Youth, students, employees and women cast the ballots by indicating their preference.

Failure to curb growing attacks on women, permitting liquor outlets indiscriminately, turning a blind eye to plundering of natural, forest and mineral resources, neglect of irrigation projects, ignoring promise to scrap apprenticeship for teachers, haphazard payment of salaries of computer teachers and education volunteers and not hiking their pay and duping selected B.Ed. candidates by not giving them job posting orders were among the 14 failures.

AITUC leader W. Ramu, AIYF leader G. Madduleti and others oversaw the mock polling.
