Rayalaseema Lawyers' JAC to notch up stir

TIRUPATI: Apparently piqued over the lack of response from the government and the public as well to their 17-day old ongoing agitation demanding a High Court Bench at Tirupati covering the Rayalaseema and Nellore districts, the Joint Action Committee of the Lawyers has decided to notch up their stir rather ‘drastically' to shake the government off what they called its indifferent attitude towards their ‘genuine demand'. As a step in the direction the Chittoor District JAC of the Lawyers have convened a workshop at the Tirupati Press Club on Saturday with the twin objective of mobilising the support of the cross section of the society for their ongoing stir and secondly to enlighten the public, especially the litigant public as how a High Court Bench at Tirupati would help them in seeking legal remedy for their grievances.

What is causing concern to the Rayalaseema Lawyers JAC is the impressive ground that their counterparts in the Circar district have already covered in mobilising the government and media support to their demand for a High Court Bench between Vijayawada and Guntur, while in contrast there is not even a formal acknowledgement from the government nor from the public so far for their own stir though it is now through its third week.

It is in this context that they engaged themselves in an interface on Saturday with different sections of Tirupati, including the media representatives.
