All-party leaders allege Kadapa SP insulted them

KADAPA: All-party leaders alleged that Kadapa SP Tarun Joshi “insulted” them by asking CPI(M) district secretary B. Narayana to leave his chamber when they went to represent to him about the case booked against leaders of four Opposition parties.

TDP MLA M. Linga Reddy, CPI district secretary P. Krishnamurthy, CPI(M) district secretary B. Narayana and Praja Rajyam district president B. Hariprasad said that a case booked against several persons in connection with the attack on Reserve Sub-Inspector K. Harikrishna and demanded lifting of the case on those not involved.

They warned of moving the court against the Kadapa Superintendent of Police.
They alleged that the SP did not heed their version on the case when they called on him with prior appointment and behaved rudely with the CPI(M) secretary and resenting it, leaders of Opposition parties walked out of the SP's chamber.

The SP was enraged when Mr. Narayana said that the RSI and another sub-inspector abused and beat him and demanded a case booked on them, they said. Accusing the police of trying to please Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy, they urged the Superintendent of Police to inquire and initiate action against the guilty without being prejudiced.

Accusing the Superintendent of Police of acting as a monarch, they suggested that he deal sternly with red sander smugglers, those resorting to illicit sand quarrying and anti-social elements, but not with peaceful agitators.
