KADAPA: The Government area hospital at Proddatur, which has been upgraded into a 300-bed hospital with modern facilities, will be inaugurated on September 26, Zilla Parishad chairperson D. Jyothi Reddy said on Wednesday.
Addressing the Hospital Development Society meeting at Proddatur, Ms. Reddy said sophisticated equipment required to provide specialised treatment to people were being procured. She asked Deputy DMHO Rameshnath and hospital superintendent Ramamurthy to treat patients with care and ensure that the hospital was not plagued by paucity of medicines. The ZP chief asked if an ophthalmic unit was set up with necessary equipment to treat eye patients. Ophthalmologist Busi Reddy said two staff nurses would be sent to L.V. Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad for undergoing training. Telugu Desam Party MLA M. Linga Reddy, Proddatur mandal president N. Raghava Reddy participated.
