Photographers urged to give priority to creativity

KADAPA: Additional Joint Collector G. Joshi Babu on Thursday exhorted photographers to accord priority to creativity and precision in their work.

Speaking after inaugurating an antique camera exhibition on the occasion of World Photography Day celebrations at IMA Hall here, Mr. Joshi Babu said photography had evolved over decades and modern handheld digital cameras have replaced the cameras that were large in size and necessitated recurring expenditure.Development of photography and animation generated tremendous employment opportunities, Mr. Joshi Babu said.

He saw the exhibition in which a typical stand camera, field and polaroid cameras, stands and other accessories that were used several decades ago were displayed. Senior photographers Ravichandran and Yousuf Shafi, Jana Vignana Vedika president D. Sudhakar, ADTS College of Animation secretary G. Yelleswara Rao, participated.

Students in good number enthusiastically watched the antique cameras and accessories . They participated in an essay writing competition.

DRDA Project Director G. Gopal presented prizes to S. Nadia Sultana, first prize winner, Aliya the second prize winner and Angel Vinathi, third prize winner of the essay competition on “importance of photography in life“ in the evening. Participation certificates were given to the participants.

Photography awards
Kurnool Special Correspondent writes: Ramsankar Naik presented the best photography awards of the exhibition conducted in connection with the World Photography Day. The first prize was bagged by Rafi (Visalandhra), second prize D. Hussain (Saakshi), third prize Ganesh (Eenadu). Eight others were announced consolation prizes.


Superintendent of Police Ch. Srikanth, DRO Suryaprakash, DPRO Timmappa were present. Collector described Kurnool district as photographers' paradise saying that the place was replete with monuments, rivers, canals, hills and forests. HThe SP said lensmen did a great job during natural calamities.
Expo

Karimnagar Staff Reporter writes: Andhra Pradesh Press Photographers and Cameramen Welfare Association in collaboration with the I&PR Department conducted photo competitions in news category, Harithandra Pradesh and culture.

ZP chairman A. Laxman Kumar, legislator G. Kamalakar, Collector G.D. Aruna, Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences chairman Ch. Laxminarasimha Rao participated and gave prizes to the winners. Winners in Harithandra category were V. Rambabu, D. Srinivas, T.V. Narayana. News category: K. Narsingam, V. Mallikarjun, Naresh and T.V. Narayana. Culture category: Kumar, M. Rajamallu, S. Srinivas and P. Narsingham.

Prizes distributed
Nellore Staff Reporter writes: Collector K. Ramgopal and MLA Mungamuri Sridharkrishna Reddy presented awards to best press photographs at Press Club here on Thursday.APUWJ, Nellore district unit, in association with Satya Digital Colour Lab organised the programme. The Collector along with the MLA, APUWJ district president A. Jaya Prakash and Satya Colour Lab owner D. Janardhan Reddy also visited the photo exhibition. Winners were Ismail (Andhra Jyothi), Kamal (Sakshi) and Deva Sahayam (Praja Sakthi) who bagged first prizes in child labour category, nature and humanity categories respectively.
