Biography

There is no historical evidence about Veerabrahmam's exact date of birth. Legend has it say that his parents were Paripurnachari and Prakrithamba of a remote village of kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.
He was brought up Paapamba near a village of river Paapagni. His original name was 'Veeram Bhotlaiah'. During his child hood days he was sent to pilgrimage by Paapamba. When he visited Harihara kshethram met a yogi Ananda Bhairava who taught him philosophy of life and god. Later He was kept at Banaganapalli as a cow shepherd in the house of Achchamma. One day Achchamma recognised that Veerambhotlaiah was writing some chantings on palm leaves. She understood that the prophecies of Veeram Bhotlaiah are of greater values and became his desciple. He later moved to Kandimallaiahpalle to establish an ashram of his own. His prime disciple was 'Siddaiah', who was a muslim by birth. The people started listening his chantings and philosophical poems and in due respect called him 'Srimadvirat Pothuluri Veera Brahmendra Swami'. Thousands of people were gathering to hear his famous Kaalagnanam. It is credited that he predicted Indira Gandhi, M.G.R and NTR to rule in democracy. He predicted the kurnool floods. According to his followers Almost 90 percent of his predictions came in to reality. The much publicised Yaganti Basavaiah to live and shout is yet to be happened. There are many stories in Andhra about his life. But very few of them are with historical evidence.
