The number of faction murders have drastically come down in recent years, but movie-makers who find enough reason to justify violence on the screen are unable to detach themselves from the history of the region.

There have been 31 faction murders in the Rayalaseema districts between 2005-10, prominently in Anantapur, Kadapa, and Kurnool districts. In only one instance, a firearm was used to kill and in seven cases, bombs were used against rival factionists.
